Café Penguino first appears in (and is the opening sponsor for) "Brunch DJ", where Kiff and Barry discover that Harry has been cutting his classes to DJ there during brunch on Tuesdays. To prevent further truancy, Harry is rebooked to perform on Sundays instead. The restaurant later serves as a filming location for Kiff's music video in "Totally Table Town", and for her film Found in Ambiguity in "Blooper Quest".
