Well, well, if it isn't Beryl Butterfingers.
Dennis, "Beach Day"
Dennis is a minor character in the series Kiff. He is Beryl's old high school volleyball rival.
Profile[]
Dennis attended Table Town High School with Beryl Chatterley, with whom he was volleyball rivals. While competing against Beryl in a doubles championship match (with Donnie as his partner), he tripped on his shoelace while making a serve, causing him to spike the ball directly at the net. With victory in Beryl's reach, a bird randomly landed on the net at the last second, lowering it and allowing the serve to go through. Dennis and Donnie were deemed the winners of the match on a technicality, and a disgruntled Beryl quit volleyball permanently.
Personality[]
In "Beach Day", Beryl runs into Dennis and Donnie again many years later at Bannister Beach. Dennis remains as smug and obnoxious as ever, taunting Beryl for her previous loss despite Beryl pointing out that she was the better player and that he only won on a technicality. She ends up accepting a rematch against him and Donnie, with Beverly as her partner.
In a repeat of past events, Dennis trips on Martin during the rematch and fumbles his final serve, but the serve goes through anyway when the string at the top of the net becomes undone, and Dennis again wins on a technicality. He is lifted up and carried away by the adoring audience, leaving Beryl even more aggrieved by the day's turn of events.
