"Kiff Theme Song" (titled "Kiff Main Title Theme" in the end credits) is the main title theme of Kiff, heard in the show's opening sequence.
As heard in the show, the theme's lyrics consist entirely of the repeated word "Kiff". The extended version of the theme, which is included on the season 1 soundtrack album, features additional lyrics. This version was also released as a single by Walt Disney Records on March 10, 2023, coinciding with the airing of the series premiere "Thirst to Be the First"/"The Fourth Bath".[1]
The theme makes occasional appearances in the show outside of the opening sequence, namely in the episodes "Lost and Found", "Soup Opera", "Personal Assistant", "Kiff Is Good at Sports", and "Dial B for Butt".
Opening sequence[]
Standard version[]
The opening sequence begins in the Chatterley residence with a first-person view of Kiff waking up one morning in her room. She gets out of bed and opens her window to see Barry greeting her, then heads downstairs and is given a banana by Martin and her backpack by Beryl before leaving the house. Outside, Kiff and Barry grab onto cable handles and glide through the air. Kiff lets go and lands on a small island just outside of Table Town. The sequence shifts to a third-person view of Kiff, who high-fives Barry as he glides past her.
Kiff, accompanied by Barry, is then seen in various locations around Table Town:
- Walking down an outdoor path, where she passes Gareth, Darryn, Trevor, and Reggie.
- Walking down a school hallway, where she passes Snekole, Helen, and Harry.
- Walking down a street, where she passes Roy and Candle, while Barry rides with the biker lady on her motorcycle.
- Walking on stepping stones across a river, where she passes a mergnome and Ghost Wolf.
- Doing the worm in Principal Secretary's office, as Principal Secretary looks on.
Finally, Kiff runs and jumps in the air, surrounded by Barry, Helen, Candle, Mary, Sweepy Steve, Kristophe, Terri, Harry, Roy, Bigby Hind, Dr. Lyon, Billiam, Timmy Table, Ghost Grannie, Renée, Miss Moufflé, the biker lady, Rat, Secretary Prince, Glarbin, Ghost Wolf, Trevor, Miss Deer Teacher, Principal Secretary, Martin, and Beryl. While the others remain frozen, Kiff tickles Barry and the two laugh together.
Spooky version[]
The episode "The Haunting of Miss McGravy's House" uses a special Halloween-themed version of the opening sequence. This version features a darker tint and gray skies, as well as an alternate "Spooky" version of the main title theme with additional instrumentation. There are also a few changes to the animation, such as Kiff being shown with slightly smaller pupils in a few shots, and Martin receiving a slight redesign as well.
The crowd shot adds Trollie, Flam Bingo, Reggie, Pat Chatterley, Nick Namé, Mr. RiPeppa, Beverly, Chubbles Wubbington, an unknown character behind Ghost Wolf, and two goats from the Wall of Goat, and removes Bigby Hind, Dr. Lyon, Ghost Grannie, Miss Moufflé, and the biker lady. As a Halloween twist, an extra sequence is added – after the title theme ends, lightning strikes and everyone surrounding Kiff and Barry is turned into a spooky creature (except Ghost Wolf, who is turned into a cute-looking living wolf, Chubbles Wubbington and the goat in the background are in their graves), causing the duo to scream in terror.
