A typical episode of Kiff features a sponsor that presents a brief message during the episode's opening title card sequence. During this sequence, Sweepy Steve is seen putting up a poster for the sponsor on a billboard. These sponsors are businesses, products, services, or characters (or even abstract concepts, in the case of "Ghost Wolf's Art") that appear at some point in the episode. "Stories Before Snories" is the only episode of the show not to feature a sponsor.
Kiff creators Lucy Heavens and Nic Smal have explained that as they were developing Kiff, they realized the wide variety of businesses found within the city of Table Town and began the opening sponsor gag in response to that.[1]
