And I asked him, "Why do you eat your homework?" And he said, "'Cause I don't have a dog!"
Miss Deer Teacher, "Be Still My Harp"
Miss Deer Teacher is a supporting character in the series Kiff. She is an educator at Table Town Middle School, where she teaches Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns' class.
Profile[]
Miss Deer Teacher is, as her name implies, a deer who works as a teacher at Table Town Middle School. Her homeroom class includes Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns, among other students, and she is responsible for teaching the class a variety of subjects, including history,[2] science,[3] and literature.[4]
Appearance[]
Miss Deer Teacher is a deer with light orange fur, as well as cream fur covering her face, front torso, and other scattered patches of her body. She has a brown nose, antlers, and hooves. While Miss Deer Teacher typically walks bipedally like the majority of Table Town's animal residents, she is also sometimes seen walking on all fours.
Personality[]
Miss Deer Teacher is a cheerful and enthusiastic educator who greatly loves teaching. Nonetheless, she can also be stern when her class misbehaves, as shown in "Life on the Inside", where she scolds her students for their rowdiness and threatens detention to anyone defying her order to remain seated.
Miss Deer Teacher gets along well with students and faculty members alike. During school hours, she spends her free time in the faculty lounge with her co-workers. Mr. RiPeppa had a habit of stealing her sandwiches from the lounge's fridge and eating them, until he was exposed for doing so by Kiff in "Faculty Lounge".
A romantic side to Miss Deer Teacher's personality is first hinted at in "Big Barry on Campus", where she reads a romance novel to her students while they work on a drawing activity in class. Her love life is eventually spotlighted in "Soup Opera", in which she dates Dante. After their first date is ruined by a series of clumsy accidents, she is able to smooth things over with Dante thanks to dating advice given to her by Kiff, and enlivens their subsequent dates using Kiff's tips. However, Miss Deer Teacher breaks up with Dante after a week upon realizing that his mild-mannered demeanor is incompatible with her own personality, and she ultimately decides to concentrate on loving herself for the time being.
Outside of school, Miss Deer Teacher performs amateur stand-up comedy.[5] A plushie collector, she sometimes has dinner parties with her childhood stuffed toys as if they were alive, a hobby which was publicly exposed in "Ghost Wolf's Art". Miss Deer Teacher also has a musical side, and keeps an acoustic guitar by her classroom desk, which she is first seen playing in "Foreverangees".
Relationships[]
Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns[]
Miss Deer Teacher views Kiff as a model student and is happy to help when Kiff needs her assistance, even in matters unrelated to school.
In "Be Still My Harp", Kiff seeks her help when Barry gets stuck between the strings of a magical harp, and in "Lost and Found", she suggests to Kiff and Barry that her old college acquaintance Rob Sadly may be the owner of a lost journal in the duo's possession.
In "Soup Opera", Kiff helps Miss Deer Teacher liven up her dates with Dante by giving her advice inspired by the soap opera Smoldering Cove; later, Kiff and Martin attempt to rescue her when they suspect that Dante may be plotting to steal her identity. When Kiff requests for a retake of her career test in "Personal Assistant" after being upset at receiving a career recommendation of personal assistant, Miss Deer Teacher agrees to the retest, with the caveat that Kiff first try out being a PA for a week to see if the job might suit her.
A rare disagreement between Miss Deer Teacher and Kiff occurs in "Life on the Inside", where Miss Deer Teacher incorrectly assumes that Kiff defied her order to stay seated in class, when Kiff in fact only stood up to reseat the rest of the misbehaving class. She reluctantly sends Kiff to detention, then does the same to Barry when he calls out the unfairness of Kiff's punishment.
