All I wanna hear is sweet, sweet silence.
Miss Moufflé, "Club Book"
Miss Moufflé is a recurring character in the series Kiff. She is the librarian of the Table Town Public Library.
Profile[]

Miss Moufflé is the librarian of the Table Town Public Library, who can typically be found sitting at her desk at the center of the library and strictly enforcing silence. Before becoming a librarian, she worked as a soufflé baker.[1]
Appearance[]
Miss Moufflé is a giraffe with yellow fur and long brown hair through which her gray ossicones protrude. She has rounded, perked-down ears, a long, wide neck covered in dark orange spots, and gray hands and hooved feet.
For clothing, Moufflé wears a cadet blue sweater with a frilly light turquoise collar, as well as a dark teal skirt. She also keeps a pair of reading glasses hung around her neck.
Personality[]
Miss Moufflé presenting her "shushing identification".
Miss Moufflé takes her duties as a librarian seriously, particularly when it comes to maintaining silence in the library. She regularly shushes noisy library patrons, and considers the library's soundproof "hush room" to be her "happy place". When Moufflé briefly returns to her old job as a baker after Kiff's takeover of the library in "Club Book", she retains her shushing habit and insists on silence in her bakery.
Befitting her love of silence, Moufflé talks in a gentle and soft-spoken manner. When she is angered, however, her demeanor abruptly turns frighteningly intense, to the point that she has to restrain herself.
Outside of work, Moufflé is a member of the Table Town Riddler's Society.
Relationships[]
Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns[]
Miss Moufflé and Kiff restore silence to the library.
With Kiff being a frequent library patron, Miss Moufflé is accustomed to her presence and has opined that she has the potential to be a librarian in the future.[1] The two have very different approaches to reading, however, with the excitable Kiff preferring to read loudly and Moufflé preferring silence.
In "Club Book", Kiff is unable to control her excitement while reading in the library and finds herself repeatedly shushed by Moufflé. In retaliation, Kiff takes over Moufflé's job and lifts the library's ban on noise, only to end up seeking Moufflé's help when the library becomes too loud. Together, they use the library's silencing equipment to tire out the noisy patrons. After being made librarian again, Moufflé admits to respecting that Kiff, although being in the wrong, stood up for what she believed in, and decides to let Kiff use the hush room for loud reading.
Moufflé provides the opening narration for "Lore of the Ring Light" and later uses her knowledge of the book Lore of the Ring Light to assist in the planning of Kiff and Barry's mission to destroy the titular magic ring light.
