Don't ask me how I do it. Some call it a gift, others call it a curse... and they'd be wrong, because it's a gift.

Despite Kiff's obvious frustration and increasingly desperate attempts to get nicknamed, Nick continually refuses to call her anything other than "Kiff", insisting that nicknames have to come naturally.
Kiff eventually learns that "Kiff" itself is a nickname and reveals to Nick that he has actually been nicknaming her the entire time, leaving him stunned and defeated. Barry then nicknames him "Nick NaLame", causing Nick, who had never before received a nickname of his own, to become emotional. Nick declares that he is finally "free" and flies away.
