Educating you kids... is my true passion.
Principal Secretary, "Principal Helen"
Principal Princy Secretary, or simply Principal Secretary, is a supporting character in the series Kiff. He is the principal of Table Town Middle School and its sister school Table Town High School.
Profile[]

Princy[3] Secretary is the principal of Table Town Middle School and its next-door sister school Table Town High School, who is more commonly referred to as Principal Secretary (his job title and surname) by his peers and students. Principal Secretary's mother is Secretary Mom.
On an average school day, Principal Secretary spends most of his time working in his office in the Table Town Middle School building, assisted by his similarly-named secretary Secretary Prince. He also coaches Table Town Middle School's track and field team.[4] As Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns' principal, Principal Secretary frequently finds himself wrapped up in the duo's adventures.
Appearance[]
Principal Secretary is a secretarybird with white feathers that cover most of his body, as well as dark gray feathers on his upper legs and the bases of his head and tail. He has a dark yellow face, a gray beak, and long pink legs. For clothing, he is typically seen wearing a red tie with dark red stripes.
Personality[]

Principal Secretary is an amiable and mild-mannered principal who, despite his occasionally awkward demeanor, takes his duties as an educator very seriously and is truly passionate about his job. He has had a deep love for education and learning since his childhood, and he considers it his calling to be a principal.[1] In "Principal Helen", he briefly quit his job to pursue a life of leisure and travel aboard a Principals Only cruise ship, even managing to find a girlfriend on the cruise, only to return to his old job after being dumped and realizing that education is his true passion. Principal Secretary has also shown remarkable leadership and decision-making skills in hectic situations, most notably in "Lore of the Ring Light", where he adeptly takes charge when the school falls into chaos after the activation of the titular magic ring light.
Although he cares for the well-being of his students, Principal Secretary has little tolerance for misbehavior and violations of school rules. In "Brunch DJ", he expels Harry Buns from Table Town High School upon learning that Harry has been repeatedly cutting classes to perform DJ gigs, and despite empathizing with Harry's dream to succeed as a DJ, he refuses to reverse his decision until being intimidated into doing so by Flam Bingo. In "Fresh Outta Grandmas", Principal Secretary is shown to have banned numerous collectible toys from Table Town Middle School due to their distracting influence on students.

Principal Secretary loves pencils and keeps his office filled with pencils, pencil sharpeners, and other pencil-related items. In his childhood, he likewise kept numerous pencils and pencil-themed objects in his bedroom.[1] Outside of school, Principal Secretary is a member of the Table Town Riddler's Society. He is also an avid drinker of juice and has a personal juice machine in his office, which according to Secretary Prince is "the only indulgent thing Principal Secretary has ever bought for himself."[2]
Relationships[]
Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns[]

Principal Secretary has a friendly relationship with Kiff and Barry and views them, especially Kiff, as responsible students. In "Brunch DJ", after overhearing the duo talking about Harry skipping school and being impressed by their disapproval of Harry's truancy, Principal Secretary assigns Kiff and Barry to investigate Harry's whereabouts. After Kiff and Barry escape detention in "Life on the Inside", Principal Secretary does not punish them, acknowledging that in the process of escaping, the two managed to get Table Town Middle School's "baddest of apples" (Amira, Gareth, L.E., Mav, and Rosso) to appreciate learning.
When Table Town Middle School winds up feuding with the rival school Tuft Pierre in "Principal Dance Socks", Kiff volunteers Principal Secretary to compete in a dance-off against Tuft Pierre's Principal Swan. Principal Secretary agrees to participate to defend Table Town Middle School's honor, but due to his lack of dancing skills, Helen is recruited to magically control his legs during the dance-off. Later, Principal Secretary convinces Kiff to join the school track and field team after seeing her discus skills in "Kiff Is Good at Sports", motivated by a desire for the school to finally win some trophies – which eventually escalates to him excusing Kiff from her academic requirements and spending much of the school's budget on a new trophy case and a commemorative statue of Kiff.
Principal Secretary entrusts Kiff and Barry with the task of sorting his outgoing mail for him every Friday while he goes out for his favorite Friday snack, a fruit cup from the Fruit-a-Go-Go food truck stationed outside Table Town Middle School – a routine the three call "Fruit Cup Friday". While sorting Principal Secretary's mail in "PS You're Fired", Kiff and Barry accidentally mail Secretary Mom an employment termination letter instead of a birthday card, creating a misunderstanding that eventually leads to Secretary Mom temporarily becoming the school's co-principal.
Helen[]
Helen complaining to Principal Secretary.
Principal Secretary frequently finds himself dealing with Helen's antics. In "Big Barry on Campus", Helen uses a computer gremlin to hack into Principal Secretary's laptop after he refuses her request to change her age on her faculty ID, causing a system error that gets Barry sent to high school by mistake. In "The Sound of Helen", she blackmails Principal Secretary into cutting the pencil budget to fund her musical The Sound of Helen in exchange for her changing his flat tire, which unbeknownst to him was actually caused by Helen herself. In a ploy to get herself named acting principal, Helen sends Principal Secretary off on a Principals Only cruise in "Principal Helen". It is indicated in "Kiff Escape!" that he instinctively deletes emails from Helen without bothering to read them.
In "Juice Break", Principal Secretary brings Helen along with him to his meeting at Table Town City Hall because he cannot trust anyone else at school to keep an eye on her.
Nevertheless, the two have often found themselves teaming up. Helen helps Principal Secretary in "Principal Dance Socks" by magically controlling his legs during his dance-off against Principal Swan. However, he infuriates her by naively crediting himself for his victory, and after another misunderstanding, she sabotages his performance on Dancing on the Tables, though they later unite again to join Kiff in her musical number on the show. Later in "Kiff Is Good at Sports", Principal Secretary seeks Helen's help to motivate the school track and field team during a crucial track meet.
Despite Helen's frequent infractions against him, Principal Secretary has shown no intentions of firing her, and the two manage to maintain a friendly relationship that is occasionally glimpsed. In "Ghost Wolf's Art", after Principal Secretary's habit of moping over old pictures of his ex "for hours on end in the middle of a Saturday" is exposed, Helen makes him feel better about himself by telling him that she stalks her old exes using GPS trackers.
Miss Deer Teacher[]

In "Faculty Lounge", Principal Secretary assists Miss Deer Teacher when her sandwich is stolen in the faculty lounge by forbidding anyone from leaving the lounge until the culprit confesses, and he later punishes the culprit himself, Mr. RiPeppa. In "Foreverangees", Principal Secretary and Miss Deer Teacher co-chaperone Table Town Middle School's field trip to the Foreverangees National Park.
Secretary Mom[]
Principal Secretary greatly loves his mother and regularly keeps in touch with her. He has weekly puzzle nights with her on Thursdays and is used to getting calls from her about whatever subjects cross her mind.[3] Principal Secretary also continues to get his haircuts from her, as she is the only person he trusts to cut his hair.[3]
In "PS You're Fired", Secretary Mom becomes upset when she is mailed an employment termination letter from Principal Secretary on her birthday, unaware that this was merely a mail mix-up that he had nothing to do with. Regardless, Principal Secretary, wanting to make it up to her, agrees to hire her as his co-principal at her suggestion. When her presence in the workplace becomes overbearing, he struggles to bring himself to fire her, but he eventually manages to do so in the form of a song. To his surprise, Secretary Mom accepts and appreciates the song, and the two reconcile.
