The Wall of Goat, "Hive Got an Idea"
The Wall of Goat are recurring characters in the series Kiff. They are an ancient herd of psychic, telepathically-linked goats who reside on a cliff wall in the Outskorts of Table Town.
Profile[]
The Wall of Goat performing "We Are Goat".
The Wall of Goat are a herd of psychic mountain goats who have lived on the wall of a cliff in the Outskorts of Table Town since "the dawn of time".[1] They have supernatural control over the sky surrounding them, which is perpetually dark and stormy, regardless of the time of day. The Wall share a telepathic connection and are often consulted as an oracle by Tabletonians for their supposed wisdom.
A new goat is born every 100 years, and when he comes of age, he may go to school for a day, then either return to the Wall or disconnect from the Wall's hive mind forever.[2]
Personality[]
Kiff and her friends consulting the Wall.
The Wall make themselves available to anyone seeking answers or advice regarding any matter. As a telepathically-linked hive mind, they think, speak, and act as a single unit at all times. Their telepathic connection also allows them to take control of the mind and body of any individual goat who might venture out on his own. However, a goat can block his connection to the Wall by placing tinfoil over his head.[2]
The Wall have their own theme song explaining who they are, "We Are Goat", which they rehearse every night before going to bed. They always insist on performing the song for their visitors, whether or not said visitors want to hear it. As the Wall and their purpose are already well known to Tabletonians, the song tends to greatly bore visitors.
Relationships[]
Kiff Chatterley and Barry Buns[]
The Wall questioning "Little Louis" for failing to synchronize with them.
In "Fresh Outta Grandmas" (which the Wall are the opening sponsor for), Kiff, Barry, and their friends visit the Wall for advice on how to settle the tie between their competing teams in their collection game Gram Grabs. The Wall advise them that they still have one more "gram" to collect: Lady Lorraine.
Later in "Hive Got an Idea", Kiff and Barry are tasked with chaperoning Little Louis, the Wall's youngest goat, around Table Town Middle School, but the Wall continually disrupt Louis' day by controlling him telepathically. To let Louis experience school for himself, Kiff has Louis wear a tinfoil hat to block his connection to the Wall, while she returns to the Wall disguised as Louis to prevent them from noticing the blocked connection. Louis ultimately decides to leave the Wall and become an airplane designer rather than returning to school.
Kiff and her friends climb the Wall in "Lore of the Ring Light" on their way to Mount Table to destroy the titular magic ring light.
