"Totally Table Town" is the second segment of the ninth episode of the first season of Kiff. It is the eighteenth segment overall.

Synopsis[]

Kiff and the gang get lost in the woods during a terrifying encounter.

Plot[]

One night at the Chatterley home, a disheveled Kiff enters her room. Still open on her laptop is her TableToob page, where she has posted a picture of herself and Barry in front of a cable car tower in Table Town, captioning it "TT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!! :D"; below the post, a user named "SMARTYPRANCE116" has replied "IS IT THO? 🤔". Kiff plugs an SD card labeled "TT Movie" into her laptop and uploads a video as a reply to SMARTYPRANCE116.

The episode flashes back to earlier that day. Kiff has recruited her friends to participate in a music video about the greatness of Table Town called "Totally Table Town", which she is making solely to prove SMARTYPRANCE116 wrong. After spending most of the day filming the video downtown, Kiff reveals that the video's grand finale will be filmed at the peak of a mountain overlooking Table Town. Although nervous about traveling so high up, Kiff's friends agree to the plan.

The children ascend the mountain via cable car until they reach the cable car's final stop, located near the mountain's peak. There, they see a warning sign addressed specifically to independent filmmakers, and are warned by a watchman that Ghost Wolf roams the mountain in search of lost children. Kiff dismisses these warnings and leads her friends on foot through an eerie forest leading to the peak of the mountain. They reach the peak, but while filming the video there, Ghost Wolf appears to them. The children flee into the forest, pursued by Ghost Wolf.

While taking a break from running, the children realize that they are missing their wireless speaker, and that they are lost in the forest with no way to call for help, as there is no cellphone reception. Barry suggests that they can find the way out more easily by splitting into pairs; Kiff agrees, noting that covering more ground will also increase their chances of finding the speaker and finishing the video. Annoyed that she is still concerned about the video despite their current predicament, the others lash out at Kiff. Kiff refuses to be dissuaded and insinuates that Ghost Wolf is just a cardboard cutout created by SMARTYPRANCE116 to prevent them from finishing the video. As she speaks, Ghost Wolf appears behind her, and when Kiff pokes him, her finger passes through his body. Now convinced that he is an actual ghost, Kiff flees with her friends.

The children eventually find themselves at the foot of a cliff, cornered by Ghost Wolf. Ghost Wolf approaches the terrified children, but instead of eating them, he simply opens his mouth to let them extract their speaker, which he swallowed earlier, from his stomach, then leaves peacefully. A helicopter then arrives to rescue the children. On the way back to downtown Table Town, the pilot explains that he arrived upon hearing Ghost Wolf's "emergency howl", and that Ghost Wolf is actually a benevolent creature who shepherds lost children to safety. After landing, the children finish shooting the video.

Returning to the episode's opening scene, Kiff awaits SMARTYPRANCE116's reply to the video. Downstairs, SMARTYPRANCE116 is revealed to be Martin, who deliberately posted his initial comment to keep Kiff occupied for the day. He replies with a single thumbs-up emoji, which satisfies Kiff.

Continuity[]

  • Two Fly Guys bobbleheads are seen in the rescue helicopter.
  • The episode "Ghost Wolf's Art" is foreshadowed by the captions translating Ghost Wolf, which mention that he might "try [his] paw at painting".

Broadcasting[]

  • In most dubs, Kiff and her friends' voices are all equally audible during the line "In your face, we proved you wrong!" in the song "Totally Table Town", compared to the original episode, where only Kiff's voice can be clearly heard.

Errors[]

  • When Kiff's friends begin singing the ending of the song, Candle is seen in the helicopter with everyone. However when they all jump out, she disappears from the crowd as the camera zooms out. Candle reappears in the subsequent camera shot.
