"Weird Delivery" is the first segment of the eighteenth episode of the first season of Kiff. It is the thirty-fifth segment overall.
Synopsis[]
Kiff and Barry want to go home, but get sucked into a strange adventure.
Plot[]
While hanging out at Reggie's house, Kiff and Barry are invited by Reggie to try out Reggie's World, a virtual reality simulation game he has programmed. At Kiff's suggestion, Reggie configures the game to simulate flight. Kiff and Barry put on virtual reality headsets and see poorly-rendered versions of themselves flying through a glitchy virtual world. They then have to leave, as Terri is coming to pick them up.
Outside, Kiff briefly stares back at Reggie's bedroom window and tells Barry she has a strange feeling that Reggie is watching them. Terri picks up Kiff and Barry in a pedicab from her pizza delivery job and tells them she has to make one more delivery before she can take them home. When they reach the customer's mansion, Terri sees that he has paid extra for tableside delivery, meaning she must go inside and deliver his pizza to him personally. As Terri is busy texting a friend, Kiff and Barry decide to complete the delivery themselves.
Inside the mansion, Kiff and Barry are led to the dining room through a hallway full of catapult-related memorabilia. They learn that the customer is George Meredith Willows, the CEO of GMW Catapults, who makes them use a miniature catapult at the end of his dining table to catapult pizza slices one-by-one onto his plate. Kiff and Barry grow impatient and ask Willows for his payment. Annoyed, Willows tells them to follow him through a secret entrance. Kiff and Barry eventually find themselves in a dark room, where they suddenly feel the floor move and see the roof open. They then realize that they are standing on a giant catapult, and that Willows intends to catapult them out of his mansion. In another room, Willows activates the catapult, propelling Kiff and Barry into the sky.
Expecting to fall to their deaths, Kiff and Barry say their goodbyes to each other, but they then notice that it is taking unusually long for them to hit the ground. They discover that they are somehow flying rather than falling, and proceed to have fun gliding over Table Town. Kiff asks how what is happening is possible and suddenly finds herself and Barry back in Reggie's room, as they have actually been playing Reggie's World the whole time. Amazed by their experience, Kiff and Barry lift Reggie up in celebration. The scene zooms out and is revealed to be a simulation on Reggie's computer in the real world, where Reggie has been playing Reggie's World in his room by himself.

Trivia[]
- Opening sponsor: GMW Catapults.
- As much of the episode occurs inside a virtual simulation and only the final seconds take place in the real world, Reggie is technically the only character to physically appear in the episode, which also technically makes the episode the first in which Kiff and Barry are not physically present.
- George Meredith Willows shares physical traits with Reggie, as well as Reggie's interest in catapults (among other medieval weaponry), foreshadowing the twist ending that Kiff and Barry are inside Reggie's World. Reggie also announces the episode's opening sponsor message for GMW Catapults.
Cultural references[]
- A poster for Jonty Cylon and the Sacred Cup, a parody of the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is seen in Reggie's room.
Continuity[]
- Reggie calls Kiff and Barry "gumdrops".
- A crude instrumental version of the song "Wings of a Riddle" from "Everyday I'm Riddlin' Riddlin'" is heard in the background while Kiff and Barry are flying through the glitchy virtual world.
- This episode marks the first appearance of Tuft Pierre's exterior, though it only appears in virtual form inside Reggie's World.
- While Kiff and Barry are flying over Table Town, part of the "Thirst to Be the First" soundtrack is reused.
Production[]
- The 3D virtual reality sequence was animated by Nic Smal using Autodesk Maya.[2]
- In an October 2023 interview, Nic Smal named this as his favorite episode.[3]
