"Witches Night Out" is a short in Disney's Chibi Tiny Tales series. It is a crossover between Kiff, The Owl House, and Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Synopsis

Helen from Kiff gathers her fellow witches, Luz from The Owl House and Dae from Zombies: The Re-Animated Series, for an "enchanted" evening on the town.

Plot

The Owl House's Luz Noceda receives a video call from her fellow witches Helen and Zombies' Dae, who invite her to spend the day hanging out with them. Helen and Dae arrive in Helen's car to pick up Luz, and Helen presses a button on her car to turn it into a flying convertible.

While driving through the city, Helen uses her magic to turn traffic lights from red to green. When a truck stops in front of her car, Helen magically shrinks the truck and lodges it into a traffic light, which she also turns green. The witches stop by a fast food drive-thru to pick up some food, which Dae turns into a zombie meal using a potion. Later at a drive-in theater, Helen magically switches the movie being shown from a romance to a horror film, and the three enjoy watching the film with their respective pets. When it begins raining, Dae uses a potion to make the rain go away, while Luz creates a magical fireworks display in the shape of the three friends.

Cultural references

• Helen magically turning traffic lights from red to green while driving pays homage to the 1996 film The Craft.

Production

• According to Benjamin Siemon, the Chibi Tiny Tales crew originally wanted to have the witches watch the 1993 Walt Disney Pictures film Hocus Pocus at the drive-in theater, "but sometimes corporate synergy dreams don't come true."
